Professor Jean-Claude Gémar
A translation scholar, translator and jurilinguist, Jean-Claude Gémar is professor emeritus at the University of Montreal, where he headed the Department of Linguistics and Translation (1992–1997). In the last few years of his active university career, he taught comparative law and translation at the University of Geneva, where he also holds the title of professor emeritus.
A graduate of the Institut d’études politiques with a PhD in International Cooperation Law and a PhD in Literature, he is the author of some 200 publications including:
