Louise Mailhot is the ACJT-CALT\u2019s first honorary member.<\/h3>\n<p>A former justice of the Superior Court of Qu\u00e9bec (appointed in 1980), Louise Mailhot, AdE, is a associate counsel at Fasken Martineau DuMoulin, LLP. The Hon. Louise Mailhot is the first woman lawyer from the Barreau de Montr\u00e9al to be appointed as a justice of the Quebec Court of Appeal, a position she held from 1987 to 2006. She was Vice-President of the International Association of Judges (65 countries) from 1996 to 2005 (re-elected every two years) and, since 2005, she has been a representative of the International Association of Judges (IAJ) at the United Nations, in New York and Geneva.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row css_animation=&#8221;&#8221; row_type=&#8221;row&#8221; use_row_as_full_screen_section=&#8221;no&#8221; type=&#8221;full_width&#8221; angled_section=&#8221;no&#8221; text_align=&#8221;left&#8221; background_image_as_pattern=&#8221;without_pattern&#8221;][vc_column][vc_separator type=&#8221;normal&#8221;][vc_separator type=&#8221;normal&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row css_animation=&#8221;&#8221; row_type=&#8221;row&#8221; use_row_as_full_screen_section=&#8221;no&#8221; type=&#8221;full_width&#8221; angled_section=&#8221;no&#8221; text_align=&#8221;left&#8221; background_image_as_pattern=&#8221;without_pattern&#8221;][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h3>Professor Jean-Claude G\u00e9mar<\/h3>\n<p>A \u00a0translation scholar, translator and jurilinguist, <strong>Jean-Claude G\u00e9mar<\/strong> is professor emeritus at the University of Montreal, where he headed the Department of Linguistics and Translation (1992\u20131997). In the last few years of his active university career, he taught comparative law and translation at the University of Geneva, where he also holds the title of professor emeritus.<\/p>\n<p>A graduate of the Institut d\u2019\u00e9tudes politiques with a PhD in International Cooperation Law and a PhD in Literature, he is the author of some 200 publications including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>G\u00c9MAR, Jean-Claude and VO, Ho-Thuy,\u00a0<em>Nouvelles difficult\u00e9s du langage du droit au Canada.
